I can not believe it is 2019 already. Christmas had me in a whirlwind of craziness. But, now that it is all over, I can focus on my New Year’s Resolutions. On the top of the list is Get Organized. Also, you must sing the title of this post to the tune of “Let’s Get Physical” by Olivia Newton John. Sorry, it’s mandatory. As mentioned before, I am not a planner/organizer by nature. I have good intentions. I start out strong, but soon life and my personality get in the way. This year, I want to really give it a proper try. With running aRead More →

5 Tips for Perfect Holiday Photos

You may not know this, but I’m not just a blogger and mom.  I’m also a portrait photographer.  For the past 5 years, I have been taking portraits for families in Burlington and Mercer County, NJ. In the past 5 years, I have learned a lot about how to get beautiful family portraits. It’s easier than you think. I’m going to give you 5 tips for perfect holiday portraits. This is the time of year when my inbox and phone blow up with requests for Holiday Photos. Ok, “blow up” may be an exaggeration.  But, I do more sessions in these two months than IRead More →

I always thought I would have at least two children. But, that isn’t going to happen. Here are my tips for making peace with one child when your heart is asking for more. When You’ve Had Enough Like I said, my husband and I always envisioned having at least two children.  It never entered our minds that this wouldn’t be possible.  We needed a little help to conceive our son, but we were naive to think that we could just repeat the process and have equal success.  We never realized that being two years older would have such a great impact on my fertility.  AfterRead More →

Welcome back.  It was a crazy, hot, emotional Summer at our home.  I can’t say I’m sorry to see it go.  My son started back to school.  He’s in Pre-K this year and only goes three mornings a week.  But, next year, he will be in Kindergarten full-time.  It will be quite a transition for both of us.  As a SAHM, I find myself wondering what I should do with all those free hours I will be gaining next year.  Can I justify being a full-time SAHM when my kids are gone for most of the day? So, I’ve been brainstorming and researchingRead More →

The Summer is coming to a close, the days are getting shorter.  That means it’s my favorite time of year … Consignment Sale season.  Have you ever been to a local consignment sale?  We have a few around our parts, but my favorite operates just twice a year, in March and August. Sales usually are held in churches, schools, and warehouses.  Buying and selling are both fun.  Today, I’m going to give you 7 tips for First Time Consignors. I have been consignor three times for two different sales. It’s a lot of work, but it’s a great way to get rid of clutter, especiallyRead More →

Welcome to Operation Organize.  That’s what I’ve declared this week.  I am determined to organize all the clutter and junk in our home so that everything is out of sight and accessible. I am not an organized person, but hate visible clutter.  It makes me anxious and angry.  I know, I know, I should go minimalist. That’s what everyone says.  Get rid of it all! You will be happier!  You don’t need all that junk.  Even though I like the idea of minimalism, it’s not practical for our family for a couple reasons. I don’t live alone.  I can reduce my things to the minimumRead More →

If you have been following me, you know that my husband and I have been struggling with infertility.  We recently underwent a donor FET (frozen embryo transfer).  In a future post, I will tell you why we opted for using a donor embryo.  This post, however, concerns all women who are newly pregnant or trying to get pregnant – who do you tell and when? My beta test is tomorrow morning, so we don’t officially know if we are pregnant, yet (I may or may not have POAS already, but I’m not going to tell you the result because it’s not important to this post.Read More →

Have you been in this position?  You’re kid starts preschool, gymnastics, swim lessons, whatever and all of a sudden they want to play at Emma’s house or  want them to play at your house. That means you have to talk to their moms.  Setting up a playdate with a new mom is like asking a guy out on a date.  You keep pushing it off, hoping that they will ask you instead. Sometimes they do, but most of the time you have to take the initiative and ask them yourself.  It’s anxiety inducing, especially if you are an introvert like me. Here are someRead More →

Summer is just about here.  The days are getting warmer and longer.  School’s letting out. Days are longer. It’s hot. Did I mention the days are getting longer? I figured you could use a little Summer Survival Guide to help you figure out how to fill those extra hours. Don’t get me wrong.  I love Summer.  It’s my favorite season.  There’s so much to do.  We can literally spend the entire day outside.  All that fresh air wears the boy out pretty good, too, so he sleeps better. And since I’m SAHM, I really don’t see much difference between the seasons other than the weather. Read More →
