I just made the yummiest pasta dish for dinner – Gnocchi with Bacon and Brussels Sprouts.  It was so good, that I had to share it with you.  Best part, it’s crazy simple. My husband ate two bowls.  Even my almost 4-year-old ate some (though he picked around the “salad”). It’s so simple.  This is going to be added to our regular dinner rotation. It’s not only yummy, but healthy, too.  And, it’s very versatile.  Can’t find gnocchi, try it with shells or rigatoni. Don’t like Brussels Sprouts? Sub in kale or cabbage.  It’s such a great foundation recipe! Ingredients 1 package Gnocchi – IRead More →

Welcome to Operation Organize.  That’s what I’ve declared this week.  I am determined to organize all the clutter and junk in our home so that everything is out of sight and accessible. I am not an organized person, but hate visible clutter.  It makes me anxious and angry.  I know, I know, I should go minimalist. That’s what everyone says.  Get rid of it all! You will be happier!  You don’t need all that junk.  Even though I like the idea of minimalism, it’s not practical for our family for a couple reasons. I don’t live alone.  I can reduce my things to the minimumRead More →

If you have been following me, you know that my husband and I have been struggling with infertility.  We recently underwent a donor FET (frozen embryo transfer).  In a future post, I will tell you why we opted for using a donor embryo.  This post, however, concerns all women who are newly pregnant or trying to get pregnant – who do you tell and when? My beta test is tomorrow morning, so we don’t officially know if we are pregnant, yet (I may or may not have POAS already, but I’m not going to tell you the result because it’s not important to this post.Read More →

The Book This week, I had the pleasure and honor of reading an advanced copy of an adorable new book that will be available soon.  Everyone meet Chicken Lips by Kristy Hamby and Marianella Aguirra! This adorable story is about a playful, little calf who wants to know why he was named “Chicken Lips”.  It’s such a silly name, especially since chickens don’t even have lips! He wants answers! So, he goes around the farm and asks the different animals if they know why the farmer gave him such a silly name.  No one has the answers, but everyone gets a chuckle.  He loses hope thatRead More →

I gave you a recipe for Mother’s Day.  Here’s one for Dad.  But, your kids will like it too.  Heck, I can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t like Fruity Cereal Ice Cream Sandwiches. These are so easy and yummy.  They are the perfect dessert for a BBQ but they also work for a fun mid-day snack, too.  I mean, they are technically a sandwich, so you could have them for lunch.  Or breakfast, since they have cereal in them. You know, they are perfect for any time of day, really. These really made me nostalgic.  I haven’t had Fruity Pebbles since I was a kid. Read More →

Father’s Day is only two weeks away!   If you are like me, you are still recovering from Mother’s Day.  But, yup, Father’s Day is coming which means you need a cool Father’s Day Gift DIY.  Lucky for you, I have a cute book and gift idea for you. The Book This week’s book is Pirate’s Lullaby by Marcie Wessels and Tim Bowers. This is a slightly different Father’s Day book.  It isn’t overtly about Dad.  It’s not like “I Love You Daddy” or “Guess How Much I Love You” which are both lovely books and very sentimental. Pirate’s Lullaby is a swash buckling bedtime storyRead More →
